Principal's Message
It is my privilege to welcome you to our website and to introduce you to Christian Dental College, Ludhiana.
Christian Dental College is a constituent institution of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, founded in 1894 by Dame Edith Mary Brown, whose enduring vision continues to inspire us through the motto, “My Work is for the King.” This guiding principle remains at the heart of everything we do, shaping not only competent dental professionals but also compassionate individuals committed to serving humanity with integrity and excellence.
Established in 1992 through the visionary leadership and untiring efforts of Dr. J. L. Joshi, our Founder Principal, Dr. A. V. Choudhary, then Director of Christian Medical College Ludhiana, and many other dedicated pioneers, the College has grown from an inaugural batch of just twenty undergraduate students into one of India’s leading dental institutions. Following the strong foundation laid by Dr. J. L. Joshi, the College witnessed a remarkable phase of growth and transformation under the leadership of our recently retired Principal, Dr. Abi M. Thomas.
Today, Christian Dental College is recognised among India’s leading dental institutions for its academic excellence, clinical training, quality research and extensive community outreach, while remaining steadfast in our commitment to providing ethical, affordable and patient-centred oral healthcare. And in a rapidly evolving and increasingly challenging healthcare landscape, we look to the future, committed to nurturing professionals who combine clinical competence with compassion, scientific inquiry with ethical practice and leadership with a deep-rooted spirit of service.
Whether you are a prospective student, parent, patient, alumnus, collaborator, or visitor, I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the opportunities, achievements and values that define Christian Dental College Ludhiana.

It gives me immense pleasure to note that Christian Dental College Ludhiana is celebrating 30 years since commencement. This also marks the milestone of 1000 alumni of CDC, a truly remarkable landmark!
In 1987, when the idea to establish a Christian Dental College in Ludhiana dawned on me, little did I envision the multifold harvest of the sown seed. Warmest congratulations to CDC faculty, staff and students for the achievements in the fields of academics and extracurricular activities.
It is my prayer that the Christian Dental College Ludhiana will go from strength to strength to attain excellence in learning, teaching, and patient care. Wishing you even more success in the future.
Dr Abi M. Thomas, Principal (2007- 2026)
Greetings! As you navigate through our website, I am privileged to give you a brief introduction of our institution.
