Student Activities
We strongly believe in the holistic development of an individual and not solely in the skill set associated with dentistry.
One cannot deny the fact that each student must be good at the core academic subjects, but essential skills that are required for personal growth and successful living is what makes our students confident and progressive thinkers.
Games & Athletics
The college has facilities for various sports like volleyball, basketball, throwball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, carroms and chess. Teams from the college participate in the tournaments conducted by the University. An annual Athletic Meet is held every year by one of the five colleges, with active participation of students from all of the colleges.
College Activities
The students (and faculty) are encouraged to explore and display their talents through the various intra (Calypso, Melange) and inter collegiate (Symphony, Pulse) events and programs. These often serve as a dais for unmasking the hidden talents in some and allows the already discovered ones to thrive. A spirit of healthy competition is inculcated in the students in various fields such as sports, music, dance, literature, arts and dramatics.
Foster families at CDC
At CDC, a foster parenting system has been developed whereby every student is welcomed by one of the staff families as an adopted member. This foster family system has been an integral part of the ethos of our community, offering a ‘home away from home’ and easing the transition into college life. Beyond academic pursuits, they offer emotional support, guidance and a sense of belonging. Through shared meals, celebrations and study sessions, enduring bonds are formed and these relationships have often outlived student days. This system nurtures personal growth, resilience and empathy preparing students not only for professional success but also for a lifetime of meaningful connections and compassionate service in the dental profession and beyond.
Anti-Ragging Policy
At Christian Dental College, Ludhiana, we are deeply committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited and is treated as a serious offense. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy, with strict disciplinary actions against those involved in such activities. Our Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad are dedicated to preventing and addressing any incidents, ensuring that all reports are handled with the utmost confidentiality. We encourage students to speak up and report any concerns, knowing they will be supported and protected.
Hostel
Our hostels are designed to provide a comfortable, secure, and enriching living experience for our students as they embark on their educational journey with us.
Hostels are equipped with 24/7 security systems to ensure the safety of our students. Additional facilities include study rooms and recreational areas, all intended to provide a comfortable stay. Living in our hostels is an opportunity to become part of a vibrant student community, engage in extracurricular activities, and build lifelong friendships. Our hostel wardens and staff are always available to provide support and guidance, ensuring a positive and enriching residential experience.

Library
The Library at CDC Ludhiana is the central hub of academic resources tailored to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and research scholars. Our library has a vast collection of books on basic sciences, dental materials, specialties of dentistry, dental hygiene covering all categories for undergraduates and postgraduates. Essential materials for postgraduate (national and foreign) entrance examinations, Journals (print and online), periodicals and dissertations are also available.
In addition to a central library, departmental libraries ensure that specialized resources are readily available to faculty and students. At the Library of Christian Dental College, Ludhiana, we are committed to supporting our community’s academic pursuits by providing access to the latest collection of resources, complemented by a range of services designed to enhance the learning and research experience.
The library provides remote (off campus) access 24 x 7 to an increasing range of e-resources. Access is available to e-books, e-journals like Clinical key database of Elsevier and UpToDate (Wolters Kluver) an evidence based Clinical resource. We also provide access to EBSCO research services as an affiliated college of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, (BFUHS) Faridkot through which there is access to various e-resources.
The library timings are from 9:00 am to 9:00pm on all weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and remains closed on Sundays.
The Student Council
The Student Council is formed after interviews to coordinate the student affairs and activities and serves to bridge the gap between the administration and the student body. The Interns contest for the posts of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Sports Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Student Editor and Assistant Editor. Events that enrich the college psyche and community well-being are planned and executed throughout the academic year by the student council.
