From the moment I stepped onto campus, I knew I had found my home away from home. I joined CDC at an age when most decisions seem to be just made for you and rarely by you. So, like most of us at that stage, I too had landed at the majestic gates of Christian Dental College with a heart full of anticipatory anxiety. After a very tearful first few weeks of missing home, we found ourselves catapulted into an entirely new world of professional education and camaraderie as we had never experienced before. We all found ourselves being welcomed into the Chrisdent menage by the warmest seniors and faculty giving us a home away from the ones we had left behind. What we received at CDC through our 5 years of professional evolution went way beyond what we thought we had signed up for. The institution did its best to imbue us with culture, compassion, high ethical standards, sportsmanship, and an unending zest for knowledge, all while eliciting the indispensable role an enriching community plays in developing a truly successful individual. During my final year at CDC, I had the opportunity to work in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics where I honed my clinical skills under the able guidance of some of the best teachers I have since encountered who also were instrumental in helping me prep for my PG entrance. I ended up pursuing my post-graduation from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Subsequently, I went on to receive a permanent commission into the Indian Army as a Dental officer (Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry). The unremitting list of professional laurels that Chrisdents have brought to the institution since its inception speaks volumes of its technical prowess by itself, and I am proud to see this tradition being furthered even since I’ve moved on from the safe lawns of my alma mater.
